TJC Global Serving Since 1985
TJC Global is a leader in the field of translation and interpreting, with over 25 years providing specialised language services.
Our interpreters in Munich can cover all manner of events, from conferences and exhibitions, to business meetings and negotiations in this Bavarian city.
We tailor our interpreting (or interpretation, as it is known in the US and South America) services to the needs of the client, matching the interpreter's individual expertise with the subject/nature of the project.
The knowledge and expertise of our interpreters in the required field ensures technical or industry-specific terminology is accurately translated and no misunderstandings occur.
Simultaneous interpreting most often involves two interpreters as the work can be very mentally tiring. Located in a booth, the interpreters listen to the speaker via a headset and interpret into a microphone simultaneously. This is the form of interpreting used during UN meetings, and is often available at international conferences. It is also usually only in one language direction.
Consecutive interpreting is used for smaller events such as business meetings, discussions, court cases and hearings and other business visits. It may also be used during panel sessions at conferences. It involves the interpreter first listening (often making notes) and subsequently communicating the message into the target language when the speaker has either taken a pause, or when time is given for them to interpret. Consecutive interpreting is the most commonly requested form of interpreting. Consecutive interpreting may involve switching language direction often.
Facilitating interpreting is used to assist clients who require only limited assistance in the source language. They may need technical or especially complex terminology to be interpreted into their native tongue to avoid misunderstandings but are in general comfortable listening and speaking to the source language without aid. The interpreter stands by to support the client when he/she requires communication assistance.
Telephone interpreting is just what it sounds like. An interpreter assists two parties, who are not able to meet in person, to communication with one another over the telephone or via video conferencing. Sometimes the interpreter is present in one of the two locations, sometimes he/she is located somewhere apart from both parties. The interpreter assists in both language directions.
